at the Impound Lot?
You must provide proof of vehicle ownership; government issued identification and pay all towing and storage fees before your vehicle will be released.
What are the fees to recover my vehicle from the Impound Lot?
You are responsible for the towing costs, a daily storage fee and admin fees. Cash, debit card, Visa, Master Card, American Express are accepted for payment.

Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Please arrive before 4:30 PM to complete all the necessary paperwork.
What happens to unclaimed vehicles?
Every attempt possible is made to locate the registered owner of an impounded vehicle. If your vehicle is not claimed within 15 days of the releasable date, The process of disposing of your vehicle according to the Traffic Safety Act;VEHICLE SEIZURE AND REMOVAL REGULATIONS
OR
Your vehicle will be sent to ASVP, which is a government program for Alberta seized vehicles which have been abandoned in impound lots. If you choose to abandon your vehicle at the Impound Lot, the amount will be a debt owing to the Crown by the current owner and the Registrar of Motor Vehicle Services may:
1. Suspend the registration of all vehicles registered in the name of the debtor, or
2. Refuse to register any motor vehicle in the name of the debtor, or
3. Refuse to register a vehicle in the name of a new owner if the ownership of a registered vehicle passes directly or through intermediary owners from the person who owes the debt.
Will I be able to drive my vehicle away from the Impound Lot?
You will be able to drive away if you have a valid operator's license (interim driver’s license requires government issued ID), you are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs and the vehicle is roadworthy, properly insured and has valid registration with valid license plates. If you do not have insurance or registration you may not drive the vehicle from the Lot. However, you may have it towed at your expense to private property.
Required Documentation for Vehicle Release
You will need to provide specific documents before your vehicle can be released from the Impound Lot.
Impound Lot staff cannot release the vehicle without viewing all required documents. This ensures that the vehicle is only being released to the rightful owner.
Why do I pay a towing and storage fee when my car was towed to the Impound Lot after it was reported stolen?
The costs of towing and storage of all vehicles taken to the Impound Lot are the responsibility of the owner of the vehicle. As a vehicle owner you may purchase insurance that covers all costs associated with the theft of your vehicle. If you choose not to purchase this coverage you assume the risk for all costs associated with theft.
Note: Vehicles will not be released to any person who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
If your vehicle (or property) was seized as part of an investigation, It can only be released by the approval of the RCMP Officer that seized your vehicle.
If you are picking up your vehicle, you need to show the following documentation before your vehicle is released:
• Proof of Ownership
• Proof of a valid Driver's License (Interim driver’s license requires government issued ID)
• Proof of Insurance
